Hyrul Anuar is a celebrated multi-talented artist who has left an indelible mark on the local Malay entertainment industry for two decades. Since winning Anugerah 2005 and earning the Suria's Upcoming Icon Award in Pesta Pesta Pesta 2006, Hyrul has been a prominent figure on Mediacorp Suria, captivating audiences through various television programs and an illustrious music career filled with chart-topping hits.
Hyrul's music journey began with his debut album, Sesebuah Perubahan (2010), which paved the way for multiple award nominations at AnugeraHitz.SG and Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM). His duet Sudah Mengapa with Malaysia’s MimiFly earned a nomination for Best Regional Collaboration at APM 2012, and the album was later re-released digitally as MATA. Over the years, he has worked with Muezza Productions on hit singles such as Gadis Tumit Tinggi and Bulan Sabit Di Bibir, amassing over 50,000 streams across digital platforms. His collaboration with fellow Anugerah 2005 alumni Syed Azmir and Fauzie Laily on Cakap Sini Habis Sini, co-written by Alyph, further cemented his status in the industry. In 2022, his duet Dua Dalam Satu with rising star Izzathy Halil topped the Ria 897FM Singa Maksima charts for two consecutive weeks. Additionally, he has worked with local composers to produce theme songs for television dramas, including Kecoh Kahwin in 2022.
Beyond the studio, Hyrul has made his mark as a live performer. He conceptualized and produced standout performances at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, featuring in annual showcases such as Pesta Raya, Cipta Cita, and A Date With Friends. In 2021, he was honored to share the stage with his longtime inspiration, Malaysia’s icon Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, in Konsert Karya Agung Pak Ngah at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
Hyrul's artistic influence extends beyond performance, as he has dedicated himself to mentoring young talents. He served as a mentor for Anugerah 2017 and Juara Mic Junior 2018 on Mediacorp Suria, and in 2023, he continued this journey as a resident judge for Juara Mic Junior (Season 2), alongside industry veterans like Asnida Daud, Alif Aircho, Izzat Yusof, and Hady Mirza.
In addition to his work in music and mentorship, Hyrul has made significant contributions as a content creator and host. He has been a scriptwriter, content creator, and resident judge for the variety show Berani Nyanyi since its inception in 2022, working alongside Sheikh Haikel, Aisyah Aziz, Rosalina, Taufik Batisah, and Gurmit Singh. In 2023, he played a crucial role in shaping the show’s second season, merging his scripting expertise with his passion for impactful content. He has also been involved in popular programs such as Tuah13 and is set to further his creative pursuits in 2024 by co-writing Kaki Nyanyi, a groundbreaking music series in collaboration with Oonik Pte Ltd and Najip Ali.
Since 2015, Hyrul has been an integral part of Mediacorp Suria’s creative process, scripting and producing entertainment and info-educational programs. His work includes popular shows such as Pop, Manja, Show Malam Ini, Singapura LIVE, Bahas 4PM, Sihat Oh Sihat, Sembang Sihat, Warna Ramadan, Cepat Tepat, Teraseh, Misi X, Projek Lit, Semangat Emas, Sabotaj, and Berani Nyanyi. He has also contributed to flagship programs like Pesta Perdana, Sheng Shiong LIVE, Rayakustika, Anugerah, and Elit Suria, as well as large-scale productions like Konsert Rock 21, Konsert Gemilang, and Konsert Fenomena in partnership with Oonik Pte Ltd and Esplanade.
Hyrul’s commitment to promoting language and culture was recognized when he was appointed Duta Bahasa (Ambassador of Language) in 2021. Through this role, he combines his passion for entertainment and education to foster a greater appreciation for the Malay language, aiming to bridge generations through meaningful and culturally rich content.
